What began in 2018 as the homestead of Ella and Eric Graham has grown into Hideaway Palmetum—a sanctuary of curated collections and creative works. The property resides within the Coco Wood Lakes homeowners association in Delray Beach, Florida. Once an abandoned weedscape, the land now flourishes with water features, palms, flowers, and tropical plants—a paradise alive with wildlife.

Welcome to our paradise!

Creating a rainforest in the middle of an urban jungle has its challenges. The vibrant habitat you nurture quickly becomes a haven for unwelcome neighbors—vermin, insects, and opportunistic weeds. Each new planting is a lesson, as Mother Nature wastes no time in revealing your lapses in foresight or longevity. Raccoons, squirrels, and rodents are endlessly industrious—if not downright destructive—constantly keeping you alert.

Opportunistic birds claim neglected branches for their nests, taking advantage of the fresh water sources scattered throughout the garden. Beneath them, a hardworking composting community tirelessly converts fallen leaves and organic debris into the very soil that feeds the next generation of growth.
